Winning Low Hands in High-Low Split Games

In HiLo games, there is always an 8 qualifier for the low. A low hand must contain five unpaired cards ranked 8 or lower. Aces can be high or low—or both.
Example: 8-7-6-5-4 qualifies as a low hand in High-Low games. 9-7-6-5-4 does not qualify because of the 9 & 7-6-5-5-4 does not qualify because of the pair

Low hands are evaluated highest to lowest.
Example: 8-6-5-4-2 beats 8-7-5-4-A, 7-5-4-2-A beats 7-5-4-3-A

In Omaha High-Low, you must have two cards 8 or lower among your four downcards, to qualify for low. If three or more cards 8 or lower do not end up among the five community cards, no low is possible.

Straights and flushes do not count against your low, a low straight or flush can win both the high and the low halves of the pot.

Hand Cards Description
Wheel 5 4 3 2 A The best possible low is called a wheel and is Five high.

Other Examples of Low hands:
